When to Use This Guide
Use this guide when you need to delete images or videos you've uploaded to your Canva designs.

Overview of Managing Your Uploaded Media
You can easily delete images and videos that you've uploaded to Canva. These files can be removed from your Uploads page on the homepage or from the Uploads folder within the editor. Deleted items move to the Trash folder and will remain there indefinitely unless deleted manually. Note, images or videos used in current designs cannot be fully removed from Canva until the associated designs are also deleted.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Deleting Media from the Projects Page
  1. From the homepage, click on 'Projects' in the side panel.
  2. Select 'Uploads'.
  3. Find the image or video you wish to delete, hover over it, and click on the ellipsis (•••) that appears.
  4. Click 'Move to Trash'.

Bulk Deleting Media
  1. Go to 'Projects' from the homepage side panel and choose 'Uploads'.
  2. Highlight the files you want to delete. Selected files are automatically ticked.
  3. Check other media by clicking the checkbox for each design.
  4. Click the trash icon at the bottom of the page.
  5. Confirm by clicking 'Move to Trash'.

Deleting Media from the Editor
  1. Open your design in the editor.
  2. Click on 'Uploads' from the left menu.
  3. Hover over the item you want to delete and select the ellipsis (•••) icon.
  4. Choose 'Move to Trash'.

Helpful Tip: Deleting a batch of files? You can click the checkbox next to each item, click the trash icon at the page's bottom, and then confirm by clicking 'Move to Trash'.

Recovering or Permanently Deleting Files
  1. Visit 'Trash' from the homepage sidebar.
  2. Navigate to the 'Images' or 'Videos' tab according to your needs.
  3. Hover over the file you wish to restore or permanently delete.
  4. Click the ellipsis (•••) on the thumbnail.
  5. Select 'Restore' to recover the file, or pick 'Delete from Trash' to remove it permanently.

Note: Remember, deleting from Trash is a permanent action that cannot be undone. Additionally, files in the Trash folder do not count against your storage limits.
