When to Use the Draw Feature
You might want to use the Draw feature when you’re looking to add a personal touch to your designs with custom graphics, notes for teamwork, or sketches for diagrams and flowcharts. It’s a flexible tool available for a variety of tasks except handwriting notes efficiently.
Overview of the Draw Feature
The Draw feature lets you sketch directly onto your designs, enhancing them with personalized graphics. You can modify the color and size of your drawings for a tailored look. The Draw feature is accessible on desktop and mobile devices and is inclusive in all Canva subscriptions including Free, Pro, Teams, NFP, and Education.
How to Use the Draw Feature
- **Web Platform:**
- Open the Drawing Toolkit by selecting the Draw tab from the editor side panel.
- Choose the tool you want: Pen, Marker, Highlighter, or Eraser.
- Adjust thickness, color, and transparency to match your preferences.
- Change color through the color tile, selecting from document colors or using the rainbow tile.
- Customize thickness and transparency with the weight controls icon and sliders provided.
- **Mobile Platform:**
- Tap the Draw on the bottom corner to access the Drawing Toolkit.
- Select your preferred tool.
- Modify thickness, color, and transparency as needed.
Using the Shape Assist Feature
- The Shape Assist feature helps perfect your drawn shapes. Simply draw a shape and hold it for more than one second to transform it into a Canva-perfect shape.
Limitations
- Draw is not available for use in documents titled "Docs."
- The Eraser function will erase the whole drawing as selected, not parts.
- Saving limitation: you can only save a drawing up to 1MB in size, consisting of various elements such as strokes, charts, and frames. If you get an error, consider reducing elements in your design.
