When Should You Unshare a Canva Design?
If you've shared a design via the share button or link sharing and wish to remove access, this guide will assist you. These shared designs usually appear in the 'Shared With You' or 'Recent Designs' sections.
How to Unshare a Design
Gather the exact design identifier before proceeding to unshare. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
For Designs Shared Using the Share Button:
- Open the design you want to unshare.
- Click 'Share' from the menu bar.
- Click 'Edit' next to 'People with access'.
- Select the user, team, or group whose permissions you want to change.
- Choose between 'Can edit', 'Can comment', 'Can view', or select 'Not shared/Remove' to unshare.
For Designs Shared via a Link:
- Open the design.
- Select 'Share' and click the collaboration link dropdown.
- Select a different sharing option.
- Optionally change edit, comment, or view access, and if needed, click 'Update link access'.
- To ensure no one can access, choose 'Only people added can access'.
- If you need to remove access for specific people, click 'Edit' next to 'People with access'.
- Adjust permissions or select 'Not shared' to unshare.
For Designs Shared as View-Only Link:
Unsharing currently involves contacting us due to potential security issues. We are working on a solution to make this more user-friendly.
Tips to Consider:
- Unsharing is applicable to individual designs, not folders.
- If a design is shared multiple ways, ensure removal from all access points.
- Remember, reopening a design may re-add it to 'Recents' and 'Projects'.
