Use this guide to understand how to unshare a design within Canva, particularly if it was shared via link or through the share button.
**Overview**
If you've shared your Canva design and wish to change or remove access, this guide will help you through the process of unsharing. Designs you've shared will typically appear in "Shared With You" or "Recent Designs."
**How to Unshare a Design**
To unshare a design, first ensure you have the specific design you wish to unshare. Here's how you do it based on different sharing methods:
- **Unsharing a Design via Share Button or Link:**
- Click the "Share" button at the top of the editor.
- If sharing with specific people or teams, click "Edit" next to "People with access," then select a user or group. Use the dropdown arrow to choose "Not shared" or "Remove" to unshare the design.
- If shared via link, click the "Collaboration link" dropdown, choose a new sharing setting or select "Only people added can access" to restrict link access.
- **Hide a Shared Design:**
- Select "Hide." Confirm your choice when prompted. The design will disappear from your Recents, Projects page, and search results.
- **Check Permissions for People or Teams Added to a Design:**
- Select "Edit" next to someone listed in share permissions. Adjust their access to "Can edit," "Can comment," "Can view," or "Not shared" as needed.
**Important Reminders:**
- This guide applies to individual designs, not folders.
- Currently, deleting a view-only link isn't possible, but improvements are underway.
- Unsharing doesn't notify the design owner; it simply restricts access.
