When to Use Smart Crop
Smart Crop is a feature that can instantly refocus an image to highlight the most interesting parts. It's perfect for refining your photos within frames, grids, or as page backgrounds in your Canva designs. Please note that this feature requires an internet connection to function correctly.
How to Use Smart Crop in the Canva Design Editor
- Open the Canva homepage and select 'Create a design.'
- Choose a photo from Canva's library or upload one.
- Add the photo to your design and click on 'Edit photo' in the editor toolbar. On mobile devices, swipe right on the toolbar.
- Select 'Crop' and then click or tap on 'Smart Crop.'
- Watch as your photo automatically adjusts. If needed, drag the slider to refine the crop further.
- Once satisfied, click 'Done' or tap anywhere on the canvas to finalize your changes.
Important Considerations
- Smart Crop might not work perfectly on images that contain transparency or are not actual photos, like screenshots or graphics.
- This feature is currently only accessible in the design editor and is not available in the Modal Photo Editor.
