Using Flourish with Canva: A Guide to Creating Interactive Charts

Integrating Flourish with Canva can enhance your designs by allowing you to create advanced and interactive charts. With Flourish, you can add beautiful and interactive charts directly from the Canva Object Panel.

Getting Started:

1. **Adding Flourish to Your Canva Design:**

- Go to the Object Panel in Canva and select '...More.' Type in ‘Flourish’ and select it from the Canva Apps.
- Log in to your Flourish account. If you are new to Flourish, create an account or log in using your Gmail.

1. **Disconnecting Flourish from Canva:**

- Open the side panel, search for Flourish, click the three dots on the app logo, and select 'Disconnect.' This will sever the link between your Flourish and Canva accounts.

1. **Creating and Adding Advanced Charts:**

- Create your visualization or story within Flourish.
- Click ‘Export & Publish,’ then select 'Add to Canva Presentation.' You'll be redirected to Canva where you can choose a template.
- If it’s your first time, connect your Flourish account. Your projects will appear in the side panel, ready to be added to any design. Resize using the provided handles. Double-click to interact.

Managing Limitations:

If you experience issues such as charts becoming static during export, use screen recording as a workaround. Errors in editing designs may occur if the Flourish account isn’t linked to the Canva account. Export SVG issues can be circumvented by using PNG format as Canva does not currently support fonts in SVG.
