# Adding, Updating, and Removing Your Tax ID

## When to Use This Page
This page is designed to help you resolve inquiries regarding adding, updating, and removing your Tax ID through your account settings.

## Overview
As of January 31, 2023, you can easily add your Tax ID through the Billing page in your Account settings. Once your Tax ID is added, it will appear on future invoices, and if applicable, indicate that the VAT for that invoice is subject to reverse charge.

## How to Add Your Tax ID
1. **Check Supported Countries**: Ensure that your country is currently supported for Tax ID collection.
- If your country is supported, proceed to the next step.
- If not, please note that your country is not yet included in the list of supported countries for Tax ID collection.

2. **Verify Your Role**: Confirm whether you are an owner/admin or a member of your team.
- **If you are an owner/admin**:
1. Go to **Settings** and select **Billing & Plans**.
2. Under **To receive tax-exempt invoices, add a Tax ID**, click the button **Add a Tax ID**.
3. In the popup, select the **Issuing country** from the drop-down menu.
4. Enter the **Entity name** and your **Tax ID**.
5. Click **Save**. Please note that the Tax ID will reflect only on invoices generated after this change.

- **If you are a member**: Please contact your team owner or admin, as they have the access needed to add the Tax ID to your team’s invoices.

## How to Update or Remove Your Tax ID
1. **Check Your Role**: Confirm whether you are an owner/admin or a member of your team.
- **If you are an owner/admin**:
- **To update your Tax ID**:
1. Go to **Settings** and select **Billing & Plans**.
2. Under **Tax exemption for your team**, select **Update**.
3. In the popup, update the information as needed.
4. Click **Save**.
- **To remove your Tax ID**:
1. Go to **Settings** and select **Billing & Plans**.
2. Under **Tax exemption for your team**, select **Remove**.

- **If you are a member**: Please reach out to your team owner or admin to update or remove the Tax ID.

## Common Issues and Solutions
- **If you encounter an error**: Please take a screenshot or screen recording of the issue and follow the necessary steps to resolve it.

- **If you want to know who updated or removed your Tax ID**: Check your account settings to see if you can find this information. If not, please reach out to your team owner or admin for assistance.

## List of Supported Countries and Tax ID Formats
- **Australia**: 11 digits
- **Austria**: starts with optional "AT," followed by "U" and 8 digits
- **Belgium**: starts with optional "BE," followed by 10 digits
- **Bulgaria**: starts with optional "BG," followed by 9 or 10 digits
- **Chile**: 9 digits or in the format: 2 digits, a dot, 3 digits, a dot, 3 digits, a hyphen, and then 1 digit
- **Colombia**: 10 digits
- **Costa Rica**: 10 digits or in the format: 1 digit, a hyphen, 3 digits, a hyphen, 6 digits
- **Croatia**: starts with optional "HR," followed by 11 digits
- **Cyprus**: starts with optional "CY," followed by 8 digits and 1 letter
- **Czech Republic**: starts with optional "CZ," followed by 8 to 10 digits
- **Denmark**: starts with optional "DK," followed by 8 to 10 digits
- **Estonia**: starts with optional "EE," followed by 9 digits
- **Finland**: starts with optional "FI," followed by 8 digits
- **France**: starts with optional "FR," followed by 2 alphanumeric characters and 9 digits
- **Germany**: starts with optional "DE," followed by 9 digits
- **Greece**: starts with optional "EL," followed by 9 digits
- **Hungary**: starts with optional "HU," followed by 8 digits
- **Iceland**: 10 digits or in the format: 6 digits, a hyphen, and then 4 digits
- **India**: 15 alphanumeric characters
- **Ireland**: starts with optional "IE," followed by 8 to 9 alphanumeric characters

- **Spain**: starts with optional "ES," followed by 1 alphanumeric character, 7 digits, and then 1 alphanumeric character
- **Sweden**: starts with optional "SE," followed by 12 digits
- **Switzerland**: starts with optional "CHE-," followed by 3 digits, a dot, 3 digits, a dot, 3 digits, or just 9 digits
- **Thailand**: 13 alphanumeric characters
- **Türkiye**: 11 digits
- **Ukraine**: 10 digits
- **United Arab Emirates**: 15 digits
- **United Kingdom**: starts with optional "GB," followed by either 9 digits, or 12 digits, or 2 letters and 3 digits
- **Uruguay**: 12 digits
- **Vietnam**: 10 digits
