When to Use This Guide:
You might find this guide useful if you've encountered issues with your print transactions due to your payment method. We aim to clarify how card authentication and authorization holds work, and what to do if you face related charges.

Overview:
When you make a purchase using your credit or debit card through Canva Print, we request the payment processor to confirm your card's validity and funds availability. This process involves card authentication, where a small temporary charge may appear on your statement but usually disappears in 24 to 48 hours. After confirming funds, an authorization hold is placed to earmark the exact purchase amount.

Understanding Card Authentication:
This process verifies that you have the authority to use the card and initiates the transaction. You might notice a small charge, often equivalent to a dollar, which will clear from your account shortly after.

What Is an Authorization Hold?
This temporary hold confirms that sufficient funds are available for your purchase. The held amount will reflect on your bank statement as a pending charge. If your transaction succeeds, the pending status disappears when the funds transfer to Canva. If not, the hold will be lifted, typically within 3 to 5 business days.

Steps to Resolve Issues:
  • Review your bank statement for any additional charges.
  • If you spot charges that don't match or are unexpected, it's advisable to contact your bank for clarification.
  • Remember that any pending charges from Canva should resolve naturally once the transaction completes.

Sometimes, additional fees or pending charges might cause confusion. If you notice something unusual, check that your invoice number matches with the charges reflected. However, reach out to your bank if discrepancies persist, as they can offer detailed insights into your account activity.

We encourage you to get back to us if there are other concerns or if this information didn't resolve your issue. Your feedback is important to us, and we’re here to help ensure a smooth Canva Print experience.
