When Should You Use Sofort for Payments?
Sofort is a convenient payment method available for users in Germany and is based on bank transfers. If you want to make a purchase on Canva and reside in Germany, consider using Sofort, especially if using euros.
Understanding Sofort and SEPA
Sofort works in conjunction with the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) initiative, allowing payment details to be stored for future use when purchasing Canva content. However, processing a payment can take up to 24 hours. For this reason, stored payment details from Sofort are mainly used for subscriptions. When making one-time purchases, you will need to manually redirect to your bank provider.
Supported Currencies and Expansion Plans
Currently, Sofort transactions are supported in euros (EUR). While Sofort is primarily available for users in Germany, we are exploring possibilities of expanding this option to countries like Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Steps to Use Sofort for Payments
- Choose Sofort when prompted during payment.
- Click "Get Canva Pro or Canva Teams" if subscribing, "Pay and Download" for premium content, or "Place order" for print materials.
- Log in to your Sofort account in the new tab that appears.
- Select your bank provider and confirm the transaction amount.
- Complete your purchase. Note that there might be a nominal fee for using Sofort to sign up for free trials of Canva Pro or Canva Teams.
