This guide helps you understand credit card authentication charges you might notice on your bank statement. These charges check the validity of your card and are automatically reversed or refunded according to your bank’s process.

Credit Card Authentication Charges:
Credit card authentication charges can vary based on your country:
  • **Brazil**: 5.00 BRL
  • **Mexico**: 20.00 MXN
  • **Netherlands**: Between 0.10 EUR for SEPA payments and 1.2 EUR for others
  • **India**: 75.00 INR
  • **Philippines**: 50.00 PHP
  • **Russia**: 75.00 RUB
  • **Vietnam**: 25,000 VND
  • **United States (Experiment)**: 1.00 USD
  • Other countries may have a standard charge of 1.00 USD.

Please note: PreAuthorization is available in most regions. It is not available in China and Colombia.

Checking Your Bank Statement:
  1. If you see an unfamiliar charge on your statement, check if it matches the listed credit card authentication charges.
  2. Consider if you recently added a new card or upgraded your account, as this might coincide with these charges.
