When to Update and Verify Your Email Address

If you need to change your email address for your Canva account, it’s important to verify the new address for the update to take effect. Until then, your old email address will still be used for logging in.

Steps to Update Your Email Address

  1. Visit the Account Settings page by clicking the gear icon on the homepage.
  2. In the 'Your Account' tab, click the 'Edit' button next to your email address.
  3. Enter your current password and confirm it.
  4. Enter your new email address. Ensure it's not linked to another Canva account.
  5. Click 'Save' to proceed.
  6. A confirmation email will be sent to your new address. Check your email and click 'Confirm Email Address.'

Important Things to Note:
  • The new email address must be verified for the change to be completed.
  • If you use Google or Facebook to log in to Canva, disconnect and reconnect using the steps provided in 'Account Settings.'
  • You can cancel the email change by selecting 'Cancel' in 'Account Settings.'

Common Issues with Email Changes

  1. Can’t Receive Verification Email:
- Ensure your email settings do not block Canva emails. The verification email is valid for 30 days.

  1. New Email Already Linked to Another Canva Account:
- Choose a different email address that is not associated with another account.

  1. No Access to Old Email:
- You'll need access to confirm the change, ensure you have access before initiating.

  1. Error with Temporary Emails:
- Avoid using temporary email addresses as they are not accepted.
