How to Update Your Canva Email Address

When to Use This Guide
This page is for you if you need to update the email address associated with your Canva account.

Overview:
Starting from November 15, 2021, if you change your email address on Canva, you'll need to verify your new email address to ensure the update takes effect. Until you do this, your old email address will remain the login credential.

How to Update Your Email Address:
If your account has a password, and you're aware of it, you can change your email on your own. Here’s how:

1. Go to your Account settings by clicking the gear icon (⚙️) on the homepage.
2. In the Your Account tab, find the Email Address section and click Edit.
3. Enter your current password and click Confirm Password.
4. Type in your new email address. Make sure it isn’t already in use with another Canva account, then click Save.
5. A confirmation email will be sent to your new email address. Open this email and click Confirm Email Address.

Your new email will become active only after it’s verified.

Changing an Existing Email Address:

1. From the homepage, navigate to Settings.
2. In the Your Account tab, click Edit next to your email address.
3. A one-time password will be sent to your current email. Enter this password into the designated field.
4. After unlocking, input your new email address, ensuring it’s not associated with another Canva account.
5. Click Save Changes.

Troubleshooting Email Changes:

• If you encounter an error while changing your email or no longer have access to your previous email, remember that temporary or disposable email addresses are not supported by Canva. Try using a different email address if this applies.
• If you’re not receiving the email verification code, please let us know so we can assist in resolving this issue.

If New Email is Linked to Another Account:
Your desired email address shouldn’t already be associated with a different Canva account. Make sure to choose an email that is unique to your account to proceed with the update effectively.
