My payment failed or didn't complete
If your payments fail or don’t go through, it’s usually a problem with the card. Check the following for common issues and solutions.
If you’re experiencing credit card payment errors, learn how to fix them.
If a recurring payment fails, we keep trying until the payment goes through. Next time you log in, we’ll also remind you to update your payment details and retry the payment. You also won’t lose your premium features right away.
Do you have sufficient funds?
Check your balance and make sure it’s enough to cover the payment. If you have one, use a different payment method. Learn more about our accepted payment methods.
Is your card expired or invalid?
Check if your card number and expiration date are correct. You can update your stored card details from the Billing & plans tab under Settings.
Is your transaction authorized by your bank or card provider?
Please check with your bank or card provider to confirm if the transaction is authorized or not.
Is your card type supported?
Canva accepts the following cards:
- American Express
- Diners
- Discover
- JCB
- Mastercard
- Visa
Is your card activated?
If it’s a new card, please make sure it’s activated.
Are online/international purchases enabled?
Ask your bank or card provider if you can use your card for online and international purchases.
Is your card allowed to make transactions in suggested currency?
We detect your currency based on your location. Check that it looks correct and that your card is allowed to make transactions in that currency.
Is your billing address’ country and ZIP code correct?
If you’ve provided a country and/or ZIP code during payment, please check that they’re correct. Note that ZIP codes should be provided for US addresses only.
Is the VAT number you’ve provided supported?
If you provided a VAT number during the payment process, check if your country is supported. Canva currently supports VAT numbers only for the following countries:
- Great Britain
- Spain
- Italy
- Netherlands
- France
- Germany
If your payment for Canva Pro or Canva Teams failed
You won’t immediately lose your premium features. Next time you log in, you’ll see a reminder to update your payment details and retry the payment.
Still having failed payment issues after checking everything above? Please contact your bank or card provider to help solve this. Make sure to provide them with:
- The exact date and time of the payment
- The currency
- The amount
Ask why they declined this specific payment to Canva. If you check with your bank, you should inquire about the following:
- Confirm if your card is activated and enabled for online and international purchases.
- Check if Canva transactions are authorized by your bank.
- Ensure your card has sufficient funds for the transaction.
- Verify if your card is allowed to make transactions in the currency you’re trying to pay in.

If you’re getting errors when trying to pay with a credit or debit card, try the following: Check if the card has enough funds. Check if we accept your card. We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or Diners. Double-check the card details: card number, expiry date, and CVV code. If you’re a team owner or admin entering the card details through a download or upgrade prompt, try adding it from Billing & plans in Settings . If you’re paying from the mobile app, check the card linked to your App Store or Play Store account. You can also reach out to Apple or Google Support for help. Use other supported payment options . Contacting your bank If you’ve checked your card details and you have enough funds, it's best to contact your bank. Your bank should be able to provide more details on why they declined the payment. You can contact your bank by calling the number on your card or through online/mobile banking. Make sure to provide them with the exact date and time of the payment, the currency and amount, and ask why this specific payment to Canva was declined. You can also check with your bank the following: If you have a new card, check if it’s activated. If your card is enabled for international and online purchases. If the type of purchase you’re making is authorized. If your bank has incorrectly marked your payment to Canva as fraudulent. If you’ve confirmed with your bank that Canva transactions are authorized and you still experience errors, you can contact us for help. Fixing the "We are unable to process payments with credit cards at the moment" error If you see the "We are unable to process payments with credit cards at the moment. Try using another payment method or try again in a few moments please." error, here’s what you can do to fix it. Disable ad blockers or browser extensions. Clear your browser cache and cookies. Use a different browser. Replicate in incognito or a private browser. Use a different device. Temporarily disable your anti-virus software or firewalls. Connect to a different network. I’m having trouble submitting my order
If the Print button is available but your order isn’t submitting, here are things to try. Check if your preferred payment method is valid or has sufficient funds. You can also use a different payment method, if available. Learn more about Canva’s supported payment methods . Make sure the delivery address is within your region or country. Shipping to a different supported region or country than where you are located is not currently available. Learn more about where Canva prints and ships . Use a different but trusted internet connection, if available. Use a browser that doesn’t use a proxy network. Use a regular browser, not incognito or private mode. Pay using PayPal
Use your PayPal account to pay for premium elements, Canva Print orders, or your Canva Pro or Canva Teams plan. You can only use Paypal when using Canva on a computer browser. From the payment prompt, select PayPal . If you don’t have your PayPal details stored in Canva, you'll be redirected to a new tab where you'll be required to log in to PayPal. Complete your purchase.
